Proper Daytime Test Of Binos.

Time to see what my Praktica Falcon 10x50 binoculars are REALLY capable of!

My phone camera can magnify to x8 and my binos are x10. Let's compare the images.

Firstly, the phone...

.                        At x1.                       At x8

Now, the binoculars.
This was simply taken by holding my phone at X1 up to the binoculars. The resulting image is x10.

And now, the two combined.
This is now an image at (x8*x10) x80. Note that cables are quite clear.

Considering the price; they cost just £30 off Amazon, these are amazingly good vfm. Now that I've given the lenses a good clean and set the diopter, interpupillary distance etc. exactly how I wanted; I'm now confident that they're perfect for astronomical observations.
There is a TINY amount of fuzziness around the edge of the FOV but that's acceptable for my purposes. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with both build quality and viewing experience during daylight hours. I was slightly disappointed by my first stargazing session but I now realise that I'd rushed the set-up.
I'm really looking forward to the next clear sky!
