Praktica Falcon 10x50 binoculars arriving today!

Even though I adore my 10x42 binoculars, I'm getting another pair. I've chosen 10x50 because I wanted to see how the image is improved by the larger exit pupil and field of view. As I'm on a very restricted budget, I'm hoping that even entry-level products from companies such as Praktica will provide a rewarding experience.

Here's what the Falcons Offer According To Praktica.

The PRAKTICA Falcon 10 x 50mm Wide Angle Porro Prism Field Binoculars offer birders, astronomers and sports fans high-luminosity optics in a solid, multipurpose body. Whether you're viewing an animal on the horizon or star in the night sky, you will enjoy a large, smooth focus wheel and rugged non-slip body helping to locate your subject quickly and then follow with ease.

Built with a coating system optimised specifically for contrast and focus, these 10x50mm binoculars maximise light transmission at all times of day. Additionally attach your binoculars to a tripod using a PRAKTICA tripod adapter for extended viewing sessions out in the field.

The Falcon Series come equipped with a case, neck strap, objective lens caps, eyepiece caps, a lens cloth and a 2 year limited warranty.

Multi-Coated Optics – bright, crisp details with impressive resolution
Fold Down Eye Cups – comfortable viewing for eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers
Large Focus Knob- easy to turn allowing you to focus on subjects at varying distances

As I said, I'm not expecting miracles from these but the 7° FOV combined with the 5mm exit pupil, a bigger lens and long eye-relief combined with a light weight SHOULD make for a rewarding experience.

I'll be doing a full review after I've used them for a few days (and nights). Watch this space!
