First Test After Collimation
I'm pleased to say that my first surgery on the binos worked perfectly. I managed some viewing yesterday evening and made the final adjustments as necessary.
I was able to clearly make out individual stars as bright points of light and also viewed three of Jupiter's moons as tiny dots which was very impressive.
I also viewed the region around Orion. Whilst the sky was rich with swirls of stars, the nebula was rather disappointing; being almost invisible. The star of the show (pun intended) was the Pleiades cluster which was glorious but showed no traces of nebulosity.
My search for Andromeda was fruitless despite being in the right area. I assume that the combination of haze and light conspired against me. I know I'm never going to get a sharp view from here but it would be nice to be able to find it regularly.
I will NOT BE DEFEATED!
